AzadiFest 16- Karachi comes out to celebrate Independence Day


 [Karachi – 15th August, 2016]: Reactivate recently hosted Azadifest16, a grand Independence Day celebration. The event took place on 12th, 13th and 14th of August 2016 at Frere Hall, Karachi.

To enhance the attendee’s experience diverse range of Pakistani food was available.

Safeguard Health and Hygiene Movement Takes Pakistan by Storm Once Again

Commander Safeguard’s latest Mission Cleansweep adventure is finally out for all to see! The new “Jungle Main Mungle” episode is not only HILARIOUS but also a testimony to the amazing talent Pakistan has to offer! Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/safeguardpakistan

 The animation has a star-studded cast including Alyy Khan as Commander Safeguard, Ahmad Ali Butt as Dirtoo, Bahroze Sabzwari as Ghunsanna and Bushra Ansari as Dirty. It also has incredibly sophisticated animation technology and a song we just can’t get out of our heads (thanks, Shuja Haider and Ahmad Ali Butt). The brand hasn’t stopped at entertaining us, though. Continuing their “Sehat o Safai” School Education Program, this Independence Day Safeguard has pledged to educate 2 million kids across Pakistan on an importance of health and hygiene.

 This pledge is part of a larger mission Safeguard has been leading since 2002 to empower kids to become health and hygiene champions. Perhaps the hallmark of this campaign was the birth of Pakistan’s first superhero, Commander Safeguard, created to augment educational material on health and hygiene. Commander Safeguard series ended up doing much more than revolutionizing health and hygiene education through it transformed Pakistan’s animation industry, and also became an international phenomenon. Safeguard, as the pioneer in animated series, also partnered with 3 Bahadur, an animated movie production by Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, again revolutionizing the perception of heroes to Pakistani youth everywhere.

 Commander Safeguard and the associated Safeguard School Education Program are great examples of how private sector brains can contribute to public sector good. Over the years Safeguard has educated 12 million+ kids at the grassroots, primary school level with special support in this cause from key partners Pakistan Medical Association and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan. This year again, Safeguard Mission Cleansweep will be playing in schools starting 15th Sep.

"PYAR WYAR" BY QB AND NOORI

QuratulainBalouch herself. The psychedelic music video is fantastically directed by Amaan Ahmed from Uncutstudios while BeenishPervaz and Munib Nawaz do the rock star yet simplistic styling and wardrobe respectively. The concept of the video may have been brewed by BB Events & PR and Empact Activations but beautifully brought to life by the directorial team at Uncut Studios.


 Quratulain Balouch has been widely recognized as one of the leading female vocalists in Pakistan. She has received several national awards over the years including Lux Style Award for Song of the year in 2012, Lux Style Awards for Best original track in 2012, Pakistan Media Awards 2012, Hum Awards in 2013 and Achievement Award in 2013. QB comments at the live concert, “I am here at the #CornettoPopRock concert and I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I finally got to perform my original tracks for the first time. So thank you Cornetto for this opportunity.”

 Music for this song has been composed by BIY records. The song 'PYAR WYAR' is QB's first attempt at writing her own lyrics and composing her own melody. Ali Noor added “after watching her write her own lyrics and be a part of the whole process, it is very clear that QB has the potential to be one of Pakistan's finest songwriters & we need platforms & initiatives like this one brought to us by Cornetto to surface the concert culture again.” He Added ‘What is very exciting about #CornettoPopRock is that it has actually supported our creative process to the fullest and that is something which is unique and rare. Because usually, brands just ask you make songs that they want but Cornetto gave us full creative freedom which is a big deal’


 Talking about this new release, Amaan Ahmed, the director of the video said, ‘this song is all about emancipation and practicing the freedom to live and explore everything that the world has to offer. The fit of this song in all its lyrical genius is such a perfect marriage with Cornetto, as the brand too primarily focuses on youngsters daring to live and love and explore different avenues of freedom around them. I wanted this video to be hip, funky, colorful and loud, much like the pop rock composition of this song and the hip and happening feel of the brand.

Beauty Treasures: 10 Petroleum Jelly Hacks

Petroleum jelly is a mixture of Hydrocarbons and commonly used as an ointment or an anti-dryness agent in winters, hold on let me tell you there is more you can do with petroleum jelly other than using it in winters for dryness. There are 10 more ways you can use your Petroleum Jelly jar. Here you go.

 1. Secret to Voluminous Lashes: 
 
 Not a pro with false lashes like me? Here is what you can do, put the bit of petroleum jelly on your lashes and let it absorb, curl your lashes with a lash curler and apply mascara and feel the difference.

 2. Get Rid of Cuticles:
When you are already done with your cuticles let's promise to make a habit of applying petroleum all over you nails especially after a manicure session.

 3. That glow:
While you always wonder where this glow on your face while you apply highlighter in your makeup session here's what you should do, apply petroleum jelly before you put highlighter over your cheek bone, brow bone, upper lips and bridge of your nose. That glow will differently appear.

 4. DIY lipstick:
Whenever my eyeshadows are about to end I never mind that situation. Here's what I do, I mix petroleum jelly with the powdery eye shadow and make my own shade of Lipstick.

 5. Long Lasting Perfume.
In summers I want my perfume to last long due to severe sweat condition especially with a heat wave in Karachi here's what I do, I apply petroleum jelly under my ear lobes, my wrist and rest areas where I want to spray my favorite perfume.

 6. Quick Brow Fix:
Put a little bit of petroleum jelly on the brow before you fix it with a brow pencil, it's the best alternative of brow gel.

 7. My Own Eye shadow Remover:
Whenever I do the smokey eye look with a great amount of black eyeshadow and liner, I always remove it with petrolatum jelly on a cotton swab. It's a miracle.

 8.Quick Split End Fix:

 I always rush for parties and events,hairs are always my last thing to do. To give my hairs a smoother look without my split ends being visible I apply petroleum jelly over the ends. It gives a glossy finish and  a quick fix.

 9. Perfect Nail Color:
For a perfect mess free nail color application, apply petroleum jelly to the outer corners of your nails. 

 10. No more cracked Heels:
With a petroleum jelly jar I don't need butter for my crack nails, Apply the substance over the cracked heels and it will work as a magic.

Komal Rizvi rocked MTV Undivide

Karachi, June 11, 2016:
Komal Rizvi thrilled the audience at MTV Undivided this past weekend with her power-packed live performance in Dubai. Looking stunning in a Nida Azwer creation, Rizvi belted out hit after hit at the MTV concert. The audience was elated by her renditions of such classics as Daanah peh daanah, Mahi yaar di gharoli, the melancholic Lambi judai and Washmallay of Coke Studio fame. Rizvi’s live performances have always been a mix of folk, fusion and contemporary pop, as was the case at this concert as well. 



 Her cover of Aap jaisa koyi had the audience up on their feet and grooving to the evergreen hit. Her mashup of the Sufi tracks Allah hoo, Ankhiyaan odiek diyaan and Mera piya ghar aaya mesmerized the people who attended MTV Undivided. Rizvi also performed the ever-popular Lal meri path along with her new single Desan da raja, which recently crossed 1 million hits.
MTV Undivided’s resounding success proves why this versatile singer is always in the limelight when one talks about Pakistani music locally and internationally.
