PAKISTAN KI SHAN! Gul Khan!

            

Hello there everyone, the most awaited Review plus interview Blog is finally here! Last week while surfing on Facebook, I saw this page Gul Khan Truck Art! The very first look of the page made me go GAGA on it! What an amazing representation of Pakistan it was, I decided to do an interview of Gul khan, and contacted the owner Gul Khan truck art, the owner is so humble she agreed immediately to answer every question of mine, She was busy for her Exhibition still she managed efficiently and provided me with all the information regarding her venture.  

 Truck art is a very intricate form of art, not everyone can become a pro at once. Details and concentration make the outcome of truck art beautiful, Trust truck art is much more than Maa ki Dua jannat ki hawa, the amazing calligraphic patterns and poems make it unique, It's a desi version of Pop Art. South Asia is a hub of Truck artists, you will find them every where. With in these three to four years truck art has taken place in your Fashion industry as well as Home textile industry, before all this we only use to see them on buses, rickshaws and other local means of transports. This is actually commendable that in a very short span truck art has made it's own place. Fortunately this will help our local painters, who really work hard to fetch money on daily basis. 

Happiness is! we still have people who wants to show the real side of Pakistan in terms of arts and crafts. We still have people who actually want Pakistan to reach some level, and this is the time, we can build our image in a positive way! Me and Gul khan! had an amazing convo! I asked so many questions and the owner managed to answer all of them! Starting from the name, Gul Khan! I asked the owner to Describe Gul khan! 

"Gul khan is Pakistan ki shan! says the owner, It's about a happy common Pakistani who loves his country,and take pride in the culture and heritage of Pakistan.

Can you tell me who is the person behind the concept Gul khan?

Gul khan is a visionary Child of a Happy couple Ali Gul and Saima Ali, and what make the it more beautiful is our three old son Amaan Ali,  we have artists, Graphic Designer and Social Media experts in our team. 

Further in our conversation we talked about Truck art masters in Pakistan? Who inspired them for the venture ?

"Our source of inspiration is every artist who has  painted any bus,rickshaw,truck,tanker,walls or any corner in our country with love and pride." 

Gul khan is an amazing Concept according to me! Do you think He is able to survive in Pakistan Fashion market? 

"Off course ,Gul Khan has won the hearts of many Pakistanis and Non-Pakistanis with its unique and creative products. Gul khan is constantly engaged in innovating new products and has succeeded so far in amusing its fans with new variety of truck art products. 

Being a Gul khan fan!  I asked her, What products do you think are the highlights of your brand? 

It's like you name it we have it, every products is a highlight. They have a whole range of home decoration material, to Fashion accessories as well as kitchen accessories. 

     Khussas/ chappals and calligraphic cushions are my personal favourites though. 

At the end of our conversation! finally i asked, What is the biggest dream of Gul Khan?  

"We are patriotic and proud Pakistanis. We take absolute pride in our vibrant and colourful culture and tradition which unfortunately has been bedim by our so called "terrorist" image internationally,hence Gul khan is a little effort on our part to represent true and happy colons of Pakistan around the globe." 

I hope they are able to fulfil every dream, and make us proud on every achievement. Life of a FTM "FIRST TIME MOM"

Hello their everyone! I hope your Thursday is going great so far. As the title says, this blog is for First time moms and Moms to be! I am a FTM and I can directly relate to the joys and problems FTM faces. MashAllah my baby is 8 months old now and all settled in the world, But I cant forget what I have been through at least till six months of his birth. All these memories made me write this blog, so that I can help Mom to be's in some way!

I am dividing this blog into three parts, as it becomes easy to know step by step What's coming in your New life! 

*Soon after the birth

*Half way through 

*From weaning to walking

Starting from What will you feel and what will you experience soon after the little bub arrives.

SOON AFTER BIRTH:

Hang in there the roller coaster has just begun, with the exquisite sound of His/Her cry, The moment you look at the little angel you will fall in love, no matter how long and tiring labour you had, the glance will make you go "Gaga" From his/her first touch to first feed you will never be able to forget any of those. I recommend you to ask someone to capture those moments for you, as these will help the little one to witness the moment of love when he/she will grow up and ask you Mama how much you love me? I my case Epidural did wonder! Yes wonder, don't let those Aunties burst your bubble with all those myths they know! All are Myths trust me. Now after the first joy, let's talk about the immediate problems you will face.

1. The aunty comes in and says " OMG He/She looks so small... What's the weight? 

2. The Divine process of feeding. Shall I bottle Feed?

3.When will I sleep?

4. No poop day! or so many poops a day!

So here's what I want you to First Relax and read my advice:

1. Let the aunty come in and say what she wants to say, It's your baby, Your OWN baby, Don't worry almost 80 percent of babies in the world are Under weight! Remember: Under Taker was not born a Wrestler! Let your hands do some magic for him/her. My baby was the Skinniest and my Firm behaviour to those comments were the only reason of my Survival!

2. I hope he/she is not hungry! the most common query we all FTM has, see their tummys are so small and they are only able to digest few sips till they are a week or two week old. Don't let the fear of Am I able to Feed him/her get a HOLD on your mind! There is always another way you cant breastfeed means you cant! nobody cant deny What the GOD has planned for Us! Let the science do some magic. Formula feed these days are as equal as your own feed, at least research shows that! Talk to your baby's paediatrician and take a way out! but Don't Freak OUT!

3. Ahh! When will I sleep, The answer is No way till you look like a zoombie! take it as a joke! babies do take time to settle,figure out,take help of your moms/mom in law's/ Husband or anyone close by so that you can take power sleep! Power Sleep is the only way you can survive.

4. You cant have a control on the poops they do! they are free birds with no timings, dont freak out if they dont poop a day or two, in serious cases do visit the PEAD* Same in the case of Some many poops a day! 5 to 8 poops according to my baby's PEAD are okay, as the tummy needs time to settle in. For all severe cases Please try and Hit Emergency Room as soon as you can! Let the Doctor do the job! Don't take everything in your hands.

Fact: Aunties will say What they want to say! let them, Dont loose patience! You are the one who has the control, Don't let anything come in your way! Stay positive!

*PEAD: Paediatrician 

HALF WAY THROUGH:

By the time you learn how to ignore unwanted advices, learning how to power nap and the Feeling " I am about to loose my Patience" You will be half way through! Holla you have reached somewhere! Yes!somewhere of mommy hood, by this time your baby will be somewhere 4 to 5 Months old! Joy will be the milestones those tiny feet will be achieving, they can get hold on the neck, they know when you or their dad is around, some babies starts making noises! At least mine did.

 Now coming to the problems of this phase:

1. I still cant sleep? Help me

2. He/she sleeps restless or He/she sleeps for so long. Is everything okay!

3. I am so excited to start Solids? Should I

For the problem No.1 I would suggest this phase is the best time to set the routine, As I wanted my bub to sleep around Nine at night! I started making his Day time routine first, That automatically made his night time routine, My baby use to take a long nap at after noon and use to sleep after the bath only, what I did, just adjust his bath timings and let him sleep in the afternoon, after that long Happy sleep! I didn't let him sleep at odd hours in evening No! I am not an Evil mom! I knew after a long nap of hours, He was all ready to play in evening and if he wanted to Cat Nap, All use to do his open up his diaper, made him change night suit along with a lotion massage to his body, after a good playing session, he was all ready to sleep around nine! They key is to lookup the clues they give you! Try and do a good massage before an afternoon Bath which will definitely make them sleep for long in afternoon!

2. Sleeping hours depends on the nature of the kid, hyper kids always take cat naps, let them do it, but not on odd timings, dont worry if they sleep for long at afternoon! take it as positive attitude and enjoy the time!

3. Solids at 4 months !It's  generally a No! as the tummy is still in process to grow, some kids reach milestone real quick for those exceptional cases talk to your pead! Rice cereal is the best option for first spoon full.

FROM WEANING TO WALKING:

By the time most of us start weaning babies hit 6 months, this phase is where they are settled, some babies grow teeth by this time, mine is 8 months with no teeth, Dont worry if your's still not teething! Not every baby is the same! 

Weaning is kinda difficult at the start, as the transition from milk to a proper meal, is difficult for mom's to grasp if I am doing okay! Milk in take will get low, by this time, not super low. You can always start from Rice cereals spoon full, then to Farley Rusks, dipped in formula or pumped Breastmilk,

As the baby hit 7 months we can start giving them, puree such as banana puree, carrot puree, sooji (at least I gave mine sooji by this tim) Ask pead before starting Sooji or oatmeal. By this time your baby will have a routine of 3 meals a day and this will go on till 9 months.

 CEREALS ACCORDING TO AGE:

Rice cereal: 6months spoon full
Wheat cereal: 6 half months to 7 months
Mix Fruit or Three Cereal mixture: From 8 months.

Brand Recommendation:

For rusks:Farley's are the best
For Cereals: Nestle/ Cow and gate/ Gerber
Ready made puree: Heinz and Cow and gate best

* Home made puree is best for baby's health , however to change taste, ready-made puree is another option and your bub! will love it as a finger food!

As you notice, the baby hits 8 months they exert extra energy,for this they will need extra proteins and fibres, fruit, vegetable and yoghurt are the best options for their nutrition. After hitting eight months you will notice them to make effort to crawl and stand by the end of this 8th month, You will feel the joy of Your hardwork from the first glance to his firt effort to stand! Hang in their, By this time start planing What you want to do for their first birth! Look up for DIY themes! clothes and DIY projects to make the day special!

• Hit Emergency when you feel something is wrong, mom's instincts are the best.
• Do as your Pead instructs you!
• Keep on monitoring their weight.
• Get all their Vaccination done on time.
• Polio drops should be given to every baby consider This as their RIGHT!

Summers Already?

Hello there everyone! Summers are here already, I hope you guys are keeping your self hydrated. Drinking lots of water is the key to survive in summers. Hope you guys followed my summer Wishlist blog, and it helped you in someway. So this blog is based on the dress code for summers, as soon summer arrives in Pakistan, We discern brands launching their lawn collections with amazing colours and patterns, Yes Patterns, don't you think contention at this stage is not of quality but of patterns, What will they converge is beyond our imaginations, But the solidity is our designers are really working hard to reach the client expectations in each summer volume.

Let's have a look which brands have already launched their collections. I have been to see the collections, so decided to rate them for you guys, as it becomes easy to choose the brand accordingly.

TRENDING SPRING SUMMER COLLECTIONS ARE:

• J. ( Junaid Jamshed's Har Rang Apna ) Volume I 
• Khaadi Lawn Volume I
• Sapphire Lawn
• Gul Ahmed spring/summer Volume I
• Satrangi (Bonanza) Summer Volume I

Starting with The most appealing collection i.e Junaid Jamshed's Har Rang Apna.

I think the poster says it all, what vibrant colours, the hype was already created by these uniquely designed posters, What made me buy one of designs was the quality of fabric they have is amazing as well as the colours are exactly same as shown in the catalogues, you guys will understand later in the blog that why I mentioned the point of colours being exactly same to what they show. Well maintained staff at majority of their outlets. What made my shopping was a discount card, which I got as soon i reached to pay on the counter, as my card got lost somewhere and I wanted a new discount card, the discount they give initially is 7%, So I would suggest you guys to go and grab a dress from this collection.

Next in the list is  Khaadi's lawn.

 Khaadi is my favourite brand, as the designs and fabric quality is amazing, this collection is more towards cool colour theme, that soothes the eye in summers, I didn't grab a dress yet, but I have been to the outlet to check the collection out! loved the blue series, Khaadi is cost effective and they have more variety even in the lowest range they offer, Designs are more pattern based, some are printed and some are embroidered, Khaadi's signature is their embroidery, which have been the most intricate amongst all the leading brands.

Third in the line is Sapphire Lawn!

Designers at sapphire are smart enough to make floral patterns this time, their digital printed ones are now overrated in the market, they had to come up with something which defines Spring/summer, and they had made the mark. Not sure about people who think floral patterns make them look FAT! which is the most common concern we girls have, this concern was the only reason I kept it at number 3rd, Now talking about the branding they do specially on social media is very creative, so O give a thumbs up to the digital marketing department,

Fourth up is Gulahmed Summer 2016

No doubt Gul ahmed is the pioneer of Lawn, but the only thing which made me keep them at the fourth place is the extream use of Photoshop in their catalogues, there is a major difference in what you see in the catalogue and what you see in real, in terms of colour, I hope the catalogue designers will work on it, as it confuses me all the time, This collection is mix in genre, they have a huge variety to choose from, they have floral, plain lawn shirts, as well as heavy embroidered dresses as a formal party wear. If one is looking for a variety they must go and check Gul ahmed's collection!

Last amongst all is Satrangi Summer Collection by Bonanza

Strangi is pocket friendly brand, they had no theme based work this time, last year collection was based on candy theme and that was the boost to the brand, The only concern which made me keep Strangi in the end is the dye quality. Majority of my satrngi dresses bleed till it colour fades up, designers should look into this matter. Satrangi has summer ready made series too, and those is far better than the unstitched ones for formal parties.

MY CREATIVE CLASS!

Hello their every one! I hope your Friday is going great so far! I am working on a feature post so I was unable to do my Trending Thursday craft blog. This blog is based on a creative Class activity which I did for preschool kids, the activity was to teach them seasons and climatic changes as well as paper folding technique. I kinda merge both activities together to make it more interesting , I am sure finals are coming over and you guys had to make your kids revise their concepts about the environment and climatic conditions commonly known as seasons.

Starting with the material list, You may require

A4 White paper

Pencil

Eraser

Colours/ Markers

Instructions:

Step No.1 Help your kids fold an A4 size white paper in to half and allow them to fold it to the either side again to make sure they know they have to make stuff on both sides.

Step No.2: Now ask your kids to write and make stuff related to Summer on the First side.

Step No.3: Now ask them to write and make stuff related to Winter on the next side

Step No.4: Similarly ask them to fold the other empty side and write/make stuff related to Spring and Autumn, allow them to use makers and colours accordingly.

Step No.5: Now after completing all four seasons, let your kids open the paper and see the large empty space, now tell them to write stuff related to climate/ or environment, in the empty space, by this they will get an idea about, all four seasons comes under climatic changes or effects of the environment they live in!

This activity is amazing for the beginners, preschool kids love activity based learning. This is our duty to teach our kids what sort of climatic conditions they are going to face the whole year. Let your kids explore the nature, and explore the material they are being provided, specially the paper they write on this activity will teach them how to crisp fold the paper and make it look interesting.

I hope! all the instructions are super easy and clear, the images you see above are real work done by my students, and they enjoyed every bit of the activity.
